July wrap up

It's been sometime since I posted my last post. Reason is: secret. Okay, there is no secret. I don't know why people get excited and frustrated at the same time when some doesn't reveal a secret. Do you always reveal your secrets? If you do, then it's no more a secret. What am I upto ?

That's the effect of not posting for weeks. I started playing tennis with an uncle ( read grandfather or senior citizen ). July has been bad with my tennis. It was raining only in between 6 - 8 am which was not allowing me to the stadium. How can we play when the courts are wet? I have to explain freaking everything to you.

And boy about the Uncle, with due respect, he movies incredibly well on the court and he looks beyond 63 to start with his age. He might have played the game before but at this age moving as good as a youngster or even better, with good anticipation and no glasses, hats off to him and his fitness. Everyone who saw him play were surprised at his movement and the flawless game. I had the privilege to play with him for 3 days continuously and I lost all the 5 sets that I played with him with the same score. 6 - 0 into 5. I have a niggle in my arm and my shoulder after 15 minutes of play. He said I should work on my serve because the point begins with a correct serve. My serve hardly crosses the net and if it crosses it lands miles away from the deuce court. So he is patient and is trying to improve my game. Perhaps time to raise my concentration level to its best and work on my game before he loses his cool. If I do not improve, I might lose the privilege. I still was puzzled and excited to play with him the first time. During one of the conversations, he said, he worked in the army. That should make me listen to whatever he says on the court or else I should be ready to face the brunt of a rusted double barrel gun.

Apart from this, I started writing tennis articles in a website called, Sportingo. I do not know how long my intensity to post my articles there would continue, but it's a fan based website for any sport, where your postings will be edited by professional editors before it gets published on the main page. My intensity would last till I get a job as a freelance writer for tennis columns for any online paper. There is nothing wrong in wishing things. If they fall fine, if they don't fall don't expect a windfall any soon. Below is a picture of your corroded damaged metal skull. I am showing yours to you. Just like that.

Are you afraid or what? Not always I should be sweet. I think I am slowly learning the tricks of trade in stocks after three months of pocket burning and brain damaging. Daddy says, making profits is not tough, but making losses is easy. So if you can minimise the loss on a daily basis, that itself will increase your profit margin. Of course, to see results one needs to be consistent and it has to observed over a period of time. It's only in July where I can put my metal head high and walk in stocks. And that's just one month.

Spanish bull tames the Swiss cow

That was the Wimbledon 2008 final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. People already started calling the fight as Rafa vs Roger instead of saying it the other way round. The reason being, Rafa's meteoric rise on the green turf. He won the customary Stella Artois championship in tune up to Wimbledon and he lived up to his expectations by knocking out Roger in a fiercely fought 5 setter, with the Spaniard prevailing 6-4,6-4,6-7,6-7,9-7 in the longest final ever played on the Wimbledon lawns.

When Rafa won the first two sets by breaking Roger in each of the sets, few were dismayed and many expected that it would be straight set win for Rafa. It could have well been that had it not been for a late order resurgence from Roger. Many anticipated that it would be a close match but the newspapers would have said, "Rafa stunned Roger at Wimbledon", had he won the last year final. It's no more a surprise victory for Rafa. It is much awaited and much needed shift that is needed at the top to keep the game interesting. It was not Roger who choked this time, it's Rafa who held his nerve all through the match despite the momentum shift to Roger in the fifth set.

Roger was expecting Rafa to falter in the last set, which happened many a time against other players. With the French Open thrashing that Rafa delivered to Roger, under his belt, he left his mind unperturbed leaving the daemons to sit pretty in Roger's head as the match wore on. Rafa was ready to play even for an hour on the same day or ready for an other 5 setter the next day. It was Roger who was getting tired and was praying for some fortune. But the man from Mallorca kept his nerves under wraps and allowed the Swiss master to crumble under pressure. If at any point of time that you felt that Roger was not upto the mark, then you should be digging a hole right where you are sitting. No doubt he made uncharacteristic unforced errors, but the resilience he had shown to come back from two sets to love down and take the final set all the way to the brink, shows why he is such a complete player with an ability to pull a shot that was never seen. When was the last time you've seen Roger two sets to love down and playing a tie break in the third to stay in the match? Roger was a tad slower than his 2007 performance but that hardly mattered. It was Rafa who has grown leaps and bounds as compared to his last year's performance that sealed the deal.

It's not the end of the road for Roger, by any means. His game is still good enough to beat top ten players on the circuit. Upcoming season is the hard court one which is to Roger's liking. Djokovic, Tsonga, Murray are other players to watch for. Many are writing Rafa off on the hard court season atleast this year but I am not. He just has shown everyone that he can not only be a clay court specialist but also a good grass court player. He is the second best grass court player to start things with. Roger's ranking will depend on how deep Rafa can extend his hard court season this year. Should Rafa's knees hold up, it won't be a surprise if these two R's meet in the finals at Flushing Meadows.

Nevertheless, July 6th was a day that I had been waiting for two years and finally the warrior has come in the form of Rafael Nadal. It's a welcome sight for many to see the tables shift at the top of men's tennis world. Game is getting stale and becoming one-dimensional with Roger's artistic play and 4 years of absolute dominance is a little too long for anyone's comfort. Roger Federer has finally shown that he too is mortal. Rafa has shown that he is absolutely brutal. Atleast the tennis will now be played on earth to give other players a sniff of Grandslam victory rather than being played on totally different planet where the Swiss cow and the Spanish bull have owned and grazed on it for quite a while.

Pink ladies

Right then, its one more shot to test my typing skills to check at what speed I type and wrap up this terrr...rrrrific, mind kickling awesome post. Read a blog today from labnol.org, a place where Indian bloggers gather to share their views and rants. It's very easy to rant with a pant than to face a banter with no supplant. By now you must have understood not to take some words and phrases as per the Vatican Bible. My own phrases do still try to hold a meaning with a rhyme even though it's not worth a dime.

So to start a rant today, I am getting flustered with the colour pink. Girls like it so much so that they try to match their hair bands to socks with that meterosexual color for men. Marketers are trying to promote their products for women laced with pink. Pink ipods, pink bags, pink lipstick, pink shoes, pink wallets , I think I haven't yet encountered a laptop. When do they come out of their pink shell? I am seeing it like crazy in metros here and ladies think it's uber cool to sport a pink something. They finally have got a colour in this male chavunistic (they like to use the word so much) world, to flash to which they have no bounds. To me ladies, Pink is a huge turn off. So don't try to sport your girliness and bubbliness with it. If you want to take revenge on me for that carefully planned first date wear a perfect shiny pink dress. That should settle the deal.

I am having this blast of a time posting nothings for reasons unknown here. Few people start to write blogs with an intention to change the world. Their ideas which were unheard of, will be spitted on this web space. Revolution will be their motto. I like to laugh on the floor rolling at that freaking idea. After getting couple of posts out of their system, cold water is poured on their revolution and they look for other means of attaining their motto which they never attain. More often, they get busy and utter, I don't have time for blogging man. Wake up man, if you don't have time to write your neighbour doesn't have the time to read. So relax and take it easy.

Above is the picture that says, WTF is happening in your miserable life? Good thing here is I can talk like a retard and yet there would be no comments which gives me a feeling that whatever I am talking is right. Awesome ! I find many ladies blog designed in out and out pink, which sucks. No, I am not letting them sleep with pink dreams. I am after them and haunt them as their pink devil till they get repulsive to it. I think I am not done with my pink rant yet, which may resurface when I see a pink chipset in my CPU. I like one nice phrase which I use often when I stammer for words in a presentation which is given in italics. So ladies, are you with me ?
